William Muir was born in North Dakota and studied with Charles S. Wells at the Minneapolis School of Art, as well as with Lentelli at The Arts Students League in NYC. He met Emily in a sculpture class at The ASL. He is best known for his powerful yet graceful biomorphic forms, often based on botanical parts, carved from wood.
